Faculty of Biology of the Jagiellonian University in Kraków,
Poland invites applications for a PhD Programme in Biology.
The degree programme is carried out in English, within a
full-time, four-year system. The Programme of studies covers courses
representing various areas of biological sciences, includes training in modern
methodology and mastering skills useful in a professional academic and
non-academic career.
PhD students are recruited to the specific research topics
offered by potential doctoral advisors. The list of topics is available on the

Doctoral dissertations leading to a scientific Doctoral
title in the discipline of Biology or Ecology are prepared under the
supervision of the Faculty members, who may provide expertise in anthropology,
ecosystem studies, biochemistry, biology of reproduction, biodiversity,
evolutionary ecology, ecotoxicology, endocrinology, genetics, immunology,
microbiology, mycology, neurobiology, oncology, taxonomy and management of

Each student of the 2018/2019 cohort will be granted
financial resources for 1-2 foreign internships and a conference, and will
receive a net-scholarship 2000 PLN monthly for 4 years of study. Each year, the
best 50% of students will be offered an additional 1500 PLN monthly doctoral
scholarships. There are also possibilities of receiving additional scholarships
offered within the research grants of the scientific advisors.
Candidates eligible to apply for the Programme are the
holders of a higher education diploma (Master degree or its equivalent) in the
field of natural sciences. Candidate registration takes place from 5 June 2018
to 4 July 2018, entrance interviews will be carried out on 16 July 2018.
